Greetings from Nicole Anderson-Cobb, PhD and thank you for contacting Samaritan Road Productions to express your interest in my plays.
As the founding playwright of Samaritan Road Productions, MY GOAL IS TO PROVIDE RIVETING, THOUGHT PROVOKINGSCRIPTSfor production to individuals and organizations interested in my work.
Thus, the tasks of the playwright are to :
---Create plays for production
---Work with producing theater or organization to assist in answering any questions about the script that will aid the final production
---Publish plays to make the works available for individuals broadly
---Attend productions of plays to view local interpretations of the plays and to discuss the plays with audiences via lectures, presentations and/or post-performance Q & A Sessions.
However, while the playwright might make suggestions in many of the following areas, the playwright is not responsible for the following:
---The playwright is not responsible for casting the plays; that role belongs to a local casting agent or individual within an organization who has will cast the play locally.
---The playwright is not responsible for securing space for the play; that task belongs to the host organization that is responsible for securing the location for the play, reserving the space via space reservation or contract with the host venue.
---The playwright is not responsible for supervising rehearsals, providing costumes, lighting, or audio-visual elements of the play. That task belongs to the director, stage manager or producing theater of the play whose duty it is to supervise all rehearsals.
---The playwright is not responsible for marketing or advertising for the performance. That task is the responsibility of the host organization and their agents.
Once you have decided to utilize a Samaritan Productions script for your production, I will draw up a contract for our arrangement for your review that will then be signed and submitted to me to finalize the terms of our agreement.
